 Ash Disposal Facility RepermittingAllegheny Power System/West Penn Power CompanyGreensburg, Pennsylvania Site: Hatfield Power Station SE Technologies assisted Allegheny Power System in preparing a "Complete Application for Permit Modification" for the ash disposal area at the Hatfield Power Station. Facility "repermitting" was required to bring the disposal area into compliance with Pennsylvania's Residual Waste Regulations that were promulgated in July 1992. SE Technologies served in the role of Project Coordinator and as the overall clearinghouse for assembling the permit application document. SE Technologies was responsibile for preparation of selected forms, drawings and calculations related to landfill performance, environmental issues, mining and closure as well as coordinating with the other consultants (Civil & Environmental Consultants and R.E. Wright Environmental) who along with APS comprised the Project Team. SE Technologies technical responsibilities included evaluation of the leachate collection and storage systems, impacts of past underground mining, projected costs for facility closure and overall review of the permit application package. < Back to Environmental Project Profiles  |
