RCRA Corrective Action InvestigationWilliam Prym, LLCDayville, Connecticut SE Technologies completed a RCRA Facility Investigation (RFI) at the former Dayville facility of William Prym, LLC SE Technologies also prepared and negotiated the RFI Work Plan with EPA Region I. This work plan sets forth the procedure to investigate suspected releases from twelve Areas of Concern (AOC) within 15 acres of the 186 acre property. The RFI and any subsequent remedial actions are being performed under a voluntary agreement negotiated with EPA. By implementing a voluntary program, Prym was able to avoid entering into a consent order, gaining considerable flexibility in many aspects of the program. The Work Plan included a focused groundwater investigation to evaluate the potential for any site contaminants moving off-site and an ecological assessment. Upon completion of data collection, SE Technologies performed a risk assessment to determine the threat the AOCs present to human health and the environment. Corrective measures are based upon outcome of the risk assessment. In addition, SE Technologies also developed and implemented an Interim Corrective Measures Plan for one of the AOCs known to be a release source. This was completed prior to implementation of the RFI. < Back to Environmental Project Profiles |
