 Wastewater Treatability StudyCorning Consumer ProductsCharleroi, Pennsylvania Corning Consumer Products received a re-issued NPDES permit that contained much more stringent discharge limitations for it plating operation. In addition, the re-issued permit also contained increased monitoring requirements. SE Technologies recommended Corning consider options that would eliminate this outfall, thereby eliminating all monitoring costs, avoiding costs associated with upgrade of the wastewater treatment plant and elimination of potential liabilities associated with having an industrial wastewater discharge. Corning agreed with this approach and contracted SE Technologies to evaluate the technical and economic viability of evaporating the wastewater and disposing of solid residues off-site in a secure landfill already receiving wastes form the facility. < Back to Environmental Project Profiles  |
